GoWishCart 2.0 is out. This release focuses on the foundations: a faster core, a more stable codebase and an admin that’s easier to find your way around.
What’s new in 2.0
Faster core
We reworked core functionality to improve overall performance. Wishlist actions — adding, removing and loading the wishlist page — are leaner, which matters most on busy stores and large catalogs.
More stable codebase
The codebase has been updated for stability across the board. This makes future features easier to build and reduces the chance of conflicts with themes and other plugins.
New admin menu
GoWishCart now has its own left-menu layout in the WordPress admin, so settings are easier to reach and better organized.
Follow-up releases
- 2.0.1 — Updated the Appsero SDK. Usage analytics stay off by default and only start if a site admin explicitly allows them.
- 2.0.3 — Readme improvements on WordPress.org.
How to update
Go to Dashboard → Updates in WordPress, or update GoWishCart from the Plugins screen. Your settings, wishlist page and existing wishlists carry over — there’s nothing to reconfigure.
As always, we recommend taking a backup before updating plugins on a live store.
What came before
If you’re catching up, the 1.x series added stronger REST API security with permission and nonce checks, fixed unsafe SQL, escaped output late and removed hardcoded plugin paths. The full history is on the changelog.
